At New Jersey Psychiatric Group, our belief is that we are here to help. We pride ourselves in our ability to connect and work with a diverse group of patients looking to improve their lives.

Cliff S. Hamilton MD

Dr. Hamilton is a dually board certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist specializing in complex psychopharmacology and intuitive forms of psychotherapy that are easily implemented in day to day life. Throughout his professional career, he has worked in numerous clinical capacities. Dr. Hamilton started his medical training at Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York and was named chief resident before pursuing a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Following completion of his postdoctoral fellowship training, Dr. Hamilton was then the lead psychiatrist at the Eating Disorders Program at Overlook Medical Center working with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians to help stabilize patients with medical and psychiatric difficulties associated with their illness.

Dr. Hamilton then transitioned to working as the lead adult psychiatrist at Summit Health (formerly Summit Medical Group) for 7 years. During his tenure there, he helped develop and refine a comprehensive treatment model improving access to patients with varying psychiatric and medical issues. He was also instrumental in implementing telehealth as a primary treatment modality during the Covid-19 pandemic which ensured the reliable delivery of services during a very high stress .

New Jersey Psychiatric Group was founded by Dr. Hamilton in 2024 due to excessive wait times and lack of insurance based psychiatric physicians in Northern New Jersey. We are hoping to improve the way that psychiatric treatment is delivered across New Jersey as our practice grows.
